Streetlight Manifesto - Watch It Crash (Part 1)
|Streetlight Manifesto - Watch It Crash (Part 1)|
The team was sent to find valuable intel in a clinic run by some ex-NeoNet SINless, and ended up convincing the woman in charge to hand it over without making a fuss.
The Johnson represents people who know the woman in charge of the clinic had been performing research into ways to deal with CFD via the matrix, and want to get their hands on her work. The shadowrunners are sent in to either grab it themselves, or lock down the place so the Johnson's other employees can search it.
Johnson was a very classy troll in a remarkably well-tailored suit, more paranoid about safety than most. The team was invited to a very fancy French restaurant for dinner, where they learned they would be taking a luxury boat out far enough away from the shore that nobody could listen in, fully catered by the head chef of the restaurant.
Johnson informed them that there was an old warehouse in the Barrens they needed to secure so his people could search it for any valuable tech that might be there, neglecting to mention that it was now serving as a clinic, or that he already knew what in particular he wanted to find. He was very busy arranging the looting of NeoNet, and had to take off on a seaplane right as the meet was wrapping up so he could go to another meet.
Ko did some matrix searching plus a quick and easy hack into the host of the target location, made even easier when its patrol IC ran into an error and had to restart. Once she had blueprints and access to the cameras, Never sent a spirit over to do some scouting, getting a quick headcount on people present and an assessment of how much magic and ware they would be up against. Once that was done, Railway drove the team over to look at the building in person.
Knox would walk right in the front door, tell the people at the clinic everything, and try to convince them to cooperate and hand over whatever valuable tech they had rather than get into a fight with a team of shadowrunners. If that failed, the rest of the team would be waiting outside to bail him out.
Thanks to Knox's smooth talking, the plan went off without a hitch. After determining what data the Johnson was after, and that he hadn't been completely forthcoming with the truth when he hired them, the team decided to mess with the data a little and present Johnson with some less than useful files. He bought the whole thing, and was thrilled with the research they handed over.
Johnson is very impressed with the team's work and the research they found, and his employers will probably spend a long time going through it without getting anything useful out of it. The team got their payment and the satisfaction of a job well done, and even some patients at the clinic walked out of there healthier than they were that morning.
