Background

Shepard is the blade in the shadows for the Catholic Diocese in Seattle. He is loosesly affliated with the Order of St. Sylvester. He is a deeply religious, but also violent man. His heart is good, but he will not pause to exterminate that which he regards as evil. That said, he will not kill nor see harm done to an innocent. Which in his eyes are generally children, devout Christians, or those genuinely seeking to do good in the 6th world. As a religious man he has a particular distaste for the infected and blood magic. These he will deal with using extreme prejudice.

His big regret is that early in life his life was out of control. He attempted suicide at age 18 and actually suceeded, albeit temporarily and was technically dead for a moment. However the miracle of magic and modern medicine brought him back from the otherside. As a deeply catholic man he sees this as an unforgivable sin, for which he is condemned to hell. However, he intends to send as many enemies of the Light there before he goes to meet them.
